About

Biography

Enayatullah Niazi is a visual artist and former professor at Kabul University's Faculty of Fine Arts, where he also served as head of the Painting Department. His work is rooted in a deep understanding of classical techniques while pushing boundaries through an innovative style he developed called Life in Free Lines (LIFL). This modern method introduces energy and emotional rhythm through fluid motion lines, layered textures, and expressive brushwork. The result is a signature visual language that captures movement, atmosphere, and narrative intensity.

Niazi's paintings focus on themes drawn from Afghan culture, memory, and daily life — often rendered in oil with a focus on dynamic composition and material experimentation. His technique incorporates brushes, palette knives, sponges, and unconventional tools to create a sense of tactile presence and depth. His LIFL method is particularly recognizable in works depicting Buzkashi, traditional dance, and symbolic portraiture, where the interplay of form and motion brings subjects vividly to life.

Born in Kabul in 1958, he has produced approximately one thousand academic and independent works across oil, watercolor, pencil, and metal-point drawing. Retired from full-time academic duties since 2022, he continues to exhibit internationally and is currently based in Bielefeld, Germany.
